GIVE THANKS FOR GOD IS GOOD!

Dear Prayer Partners,
What something to give thanks for? Remember praying for a baby named Levi? About 18 months ago the people who live across the street from Cheryl & I (Chris & Monica) had a child delivered several months premature. They named her Levi. Levi’s lungs were not fully developed and she has been on a ventilator since birth. They have been ever so slowly weaning her off the vent. I talked with Monica yesterday and Levi made it all week without the ventilator!
Want something else to give thanks for? On one of Levi’s numerous trips to St. Luke’s NICU, Monica reached her breaking point. She went into a bathroom, got on her knees, and gave her heart to Jesus! She told me that her life is radically different… for the better! She is reading the Bible and watching Abundant Life Baptist Church’s internet broadcast every week. She said she is looking forward to the day that Levi is strong enough to go to church!
Keep praying for Chris. He is considering the claims of Jesus but not quit there yet.

Have a blessed Thanksgiving Celebration!

UPDATES

Dear Prayer Partners,

What a glorious day! I was at Immanuel Baptist this morning. As you may recall I shared in an earlier prayer request that they are an older, declining, congregation without a pastor. However, I believe God is beginning to breathe new life into that church. When I gave the invitation this morning people began to come to the altar. It was such a moving, humbling experience to see around 25 people who use canes, walkers, and wheelchairs come and stand at the altar and simply say, “Here I am Lord, send me! Use me!” One man told me he was in his 90’s and couldn’t get on his knees, but was kneeling in his heart.

And then tonight! My home church hosted an event called “Gobble Til Ya Wobble.” We invited people from all over the community for a Thanksgiving Dinner. We filled our gymnasium with guests and served them dinner and then I had the blessing of sharing the simple message of salvation through Jesus Christ. I haven’t yet heard numbers of attendance or how many people asked Jesus into their heart, but as I was leaving tonight I was told several had prayed to receive Jesus and there were still several people being counseled with. Please pray for those who asked Jesus to be their Savior.

Thank you so much for your prayers and concern for the souls of others. Have a blessed Thanksgiving celebration!

PRAYER REQUEST

Dear Prayer Partners,

The following comes from our friend Cindy Martin…
Ron,
Will you please pray for by brother in Orlando. He has been in the hospital 4 times in the last few weeks. He has congestive heart failure and also bladder cancer. The doctors have been giving him chemo thinking this would make his scheduled surgery easier in the month of February. He is my only sibling and is 11 years younger than me. I flew down to visit he and his wife in October for 10 days. He spent 6 of those days in the hospital. He is again in the hospital now and very weak. His name is Ken Franklin and his wife’s name is Sally. I am most worried about his salvation.
Thank you, Cindy

PRAYER REQUEST

Dear Prayer Partners,
The following request comes from Paul & Candy Humber in Texas…

Ron,
Please ask your Prayer Partners to pray for my Pastor, Richard and his children and grandchildren. His wife Kathy died unexpectedly at their home Tuesday night as he was trying to get her in the van to take her to the ER. They made it to the ER, but she was already in Heaven.
She will be greatly missed, but I am praising the Lord for His promises. She is no longer wheelchair bound and no longer suffering!! She is WALKING the streets of gold and forever singing with the angels!
Candy Humber

UPDATE

Dear Prayer Partners,

Yesterday at Immanuel Baptist went well. A student from Calvary Bible College, Logan David, led worship and did a great job.

Please continue to pray for them as they are without a pastor. They are considering; 1. Merging with another church. 2. Allowing another church to take over. 3. Call a pastor and continue on as is.
They realize that whatever decision they make it will mean major changes, and for an older congregation none of the choices will be easy.
Thank you for your prayers.
