I would ask that you please add Mike Abernathy to the prayer list. He is a very frail and down to 127 lbs. He has so much going wrong in his body that I wonder how long he will be with us. Just yesterday he received a call about the results of a scan done to his legs and results show that his feet are not receiving the blood flow needed to keep his feet alive. More tests will be done to make a determination but he is in need of our prayers. His father went through this same procedure and knows from his experience how tough it is.

Hi Ron,

Just in the past few days, I have been blessed to find that I have so many friends that are willing to walk with me through this.

Go ahead and share with others about my breast cancer. I had a difficult night last night and talked to my parents and my oldest brother. There are still some friends that don’t know but word is getting out.

I have an appointment next Tuesday with the surgeon, so will then find out more details of what is to come.

On August 27th I asked you to pray for a friend of ours, who was having some tests to see if she has breast cancer. Her test results came back and it is cancer. She is waiting to hear back from a specialist surgeon to see what the next steps will be.

She has not yet had a chance to share this news with her parents yet, so until then, please allow me to share this as an anonymous request.

This prayer request comes from Lendall Morris. Lendall is the pastor of Verona Baptist Church, Verona, Missouri. His daughter, Cara, is serving in South Asia as a career missionary. Lendall’s wife, Shannon, traveled with Cara to help get her settled in and now it’s time for Shannon to return home…

Hey Bro Ron,

Please share with the prayer partners that Shannon will be leaving Cara in South Asia this morning. She says she will be fine however, I learned from dropping them off at the airport how difficult it was for me to say goodbye to my girl. I need people praying for Shannon tomorrow as she will not only be leaving Cara but will be flying alone for 2 days before I pick her up in KC on Wednesday evening!

Ron,

Sunday morning, Ken Holmes, my son’s father in law, was hit by a pickup truck while bike riding. There were no broken bones but he has brain damage. Doctors are trying to stabilize the brain (swelling, blood drainage, etc.). He needs prayer for healing and lift up the family also.

Please pray for a young lady I met at FBC, Grain Valley yesterday. Her name is Melissa. She has a 9 yr. old son named Richard who is having some serious health issues. He has a heart problem and the doctor isn’t sure what to do, so is sending him to a specialist for further tests.

There was another salvation decision at FBC, Grain Valley yesterday morning! God is so good. I’ll be preaching at FBC next Sunday and then revival season will begin. September 12-15 I will be at FBC, Rogersville, MO with Pastor Winston Burton.

Hi Ron,

Larry came home from the hospital yesterday. He’s still on antibiotics but is doing well. He’s lost a total of 50lbs since he started to get sick a little over three months ago.

The following is from a friend and missionary in Kenya, John Myrick. He works at the Riff Valley Accademy.

Ron-

We have two people associated with RVA here in Kenya are having heart surgery to repair leaky valves. One is a ninth grade student, very small for his age. His surgery has taken place and been successful, but his recovery will be long and hard. The other is one of our mission leaders. He is currently in India waiting on healing from an infection before surgery. Sorry both of the request must remain nameless, but please remember to pray for them.

Please add Doug Gower to your prayer list. He has a rare form of cancer called Pseudomyxoma Peritonei. He just had surgery to remove a number of very large tumors from his abdomen and the surgeon wasn’t very optimistic. Doug is in need of a God sized miracle and he needs it soon.

Also, a friend of ours, who needs to remain anonymous for the moment, is having some tests this afternoon to see if she has breast cancer.

Thank you for your prayers. What a sweet time of worship with the folks at FBC, Grain Valley this past Sunday – one more profession of faith in Jesus! I will be with them for the next two weeks and then revival season begins. Be sure and check the events page on our web site, then click on schedule for my itinerary.

Don, the Fed-Ex driver that was involved in the accident was released from the hospital only to be readmitted. His dentist discovered his jaw was shattered. Please keep Don on your prayer list a few more days.

Keri Peterson’s mom, Sandy, was moved from ICU to a room. She will have a long recuperation time because of numerous internal, as well as external injuries.

I received the following update from Sandy Stacey…

Hi Ron,

Larry had a couple of really bad days. He has a staph infection in the port that was giving him nutrients. He is much better today.

The doctor changed the antibiotic and he is responding well. They took the tube that was in his stomach out and started him on a clear liquid diet.

He will be in the hospital for a few more days.

There have been just too many auto accidents lately.

Keri & Ivan Peterson are members at my home church and good friends. Keri’s mom & stepdad, David & Sandy Baldwin were in a very serious car wreck while traveling in Indiana. David was killed and Sandy is in critical condition. Please pray for all concerned.

Jon Heath from Tulsa reported that the funeral for Shannon Rathmann was a difficult time for the family. However, a young man prayed to receive Christ as his Savior during the service and the family knows that because of their daughters death, someone else found eternal life.

Don, the driver from Fed-Ex had surgery yesterday afternoon to close a rather large laceration on his leg. He is still listed as critical. Pray that God will accelerate the healing process and keep away any infection.

I received the following update from Evangelist Bob White concerning his son, Jack…

Hi Ron,

Just a note to say Jack had an ultra sound today and it did not show what the problem is so they will do a dye test tomorrow.

Larry Stacy’s surgery went well. Sandy said he would be in the hospital for a few weeks of recuperation. Thank you for praying for Larry.

Kent Cochran asked that we pray for a co-worker of his named Don. Don drives a delivery van for Fed-Ex and was involved in a serious accident this morning. The other driver was traveling at approximately 100 mph, crossed the median and hit Don’s delivery van head-on. Don is in critical condition in Overland Park Hospital and the driver of the other car was pronounced dead at the scene. Please pray for Don’s family as well.

A good friend, Judy Slaten, is back in the hospital again. Many of you will be familiar with her situation as we have had her on our prayer list for about a year now. She has been going through a series of chemo treatments for cancer and is now suffering from a blockage between her stomach and intestine. She has endured a number of surgeries related to cancer, hopefully she won’t have to have another surgery for this problem.

Your prayers do make a difference. Thank you for your sacrifice of time.
